Full proposal: Following a Section 10 inspection (in line with the 1975 Reservoirs Act) at Downhill Dam a number of matters in the interests of safety were identified. These matters related to the safety of the dams ability to hold water and measures were recommended by the All Reservoirs Panel Engineer ( the Inspecting Engineer under the Act) to improve the safety of the structure and minimise the risk to the environment and population downstream. The proposal is for the retention of the modifications carried out to repair the dam crest refurbish the spillway provide suitable safe access across the river channel to allow safe operation of existing valves and the general clearance of trees and vegetation that compromised the safety of the embankment. The works also included site fencing.
